Strategy 1: The "Two-Word Burn" Technique
If your first word comes up almost completely gray, do not panic. Do not attempt to guess the final word on turn two. Instead, intentionally pick a second word composed of five entirely different high-frequency letters (such as combining SLATE on turn one with IRONY on turn two). By turn three, you will have tested 10 unique letters—covering nearly half the alphabet and almost all major vowels. Wordle Today
Strategy 2: Beware of the "Rhyme Trap"
The most dangerous trap in Wordle occurs when you discover a pattern with dozens of potential answers. For example, if you have identified _IGHT, the word could be FIGHT, LIGHT, NIGHT, RIGHT, SIGHT, MIGHT, or TIGHT.
If you guess these one by one in Standard Mode, you risk running out of attempts before hitting the correct leading consonant.
Solution: Use a sacrificial guess to test multiple candidate consonants in a single turn. For instance, guessing the word FILMS tests F, L, and M all at once.
Strategy 3: Remember Double Letters
Wordle never tells you if a letter appears more than once. Words like ABBEY, ROBOT, SKILL, or GEESE frequently break long streaks because players forget that a green letter can appear again in another column. If you are stuck with few remaining letter options, always evaluate whether a confirmed letter might be doubled.
